I awake this morning from a restless sleep after being blessed to help with the music for the closing of the men Curisllo 107 in Indianapolis. I felt the fire of the Holy Spirit moving within me all night. Such amazing stories and outlooks was given by the men of Curisillo 107. But the most amazing part of the evening was the Grace that filled the room. You could feel it vibrate, as if all colors, light, atoms and molecules were rubbing together to build the fire of God’s love and peace within each of our hearts. Truly amazing and humbling.
I wish more men and women could feel the hope, love and Grace that the Cursillo movement helps to connect us to. I believe that is the greatest gift of this movement, Grace. In my heart I know how the apostles felt in the upper room on that blessed day in which the Tongues of Fire rained down on them by the out poring of God’s Grace through the Holy Spirit. My Cursillo filled my heart and mind and set them both on fire. I could actually see the Grace. There was one particular moment during my Cursillo (105) when Fr Phil was giving a talk in which he introduced Palanca, I saw vibrations of colors radiate from the walls through everyone in the room. It was so beautiful that I was moved to tears.
One of the men last night summed it up by one simple sentence, he looked over to his wife and said, “The man you are taking home tonight is not the same man you saw last Thursday.” Cursillo will change you. But like all change, one must stay connected. And we do that through grouping and the three legs of Study, Piety, and Action. It is our job to be like Christ to others in our environment and to do that, we must stay connected to the movement. Think of it as a recharging of your battery, cause once you start your fourth day, you may have changed, but the world has not. Through example, love and with Grace we must be the change we want to see in the world.
DeColores!
Let Us Pray:
Come Holy Spirit,
Fill the hearts of your faithful
And kindle in us the fire of your love.
Send forth your Spirit, and we shall be created.
And You shall renew the face of the earth.
O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit,
Did instruct the hearts of the faithful,
Grant that by the same Holy Spirit
We may be truly wise
And ever enjoy His consolations.
Through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
