New Music Project – Shoegaze Worship!

I thought I would go ahead and post this on my blog.  I have been experimenting with worship music and secular musical styles. I have always been into Shoegaze and some Electronica for a long time (along with my love for the Grateful Dead).  But I thought I would attempt to do some popular worship music in untraditional styles or genre’s.

My end goal is to form a Shoegaze Worship band 🙂

This is the first song I did- Breathe.  I think you can hear the My Bloody Valentine influence

Here is the second song I attempted “Open the Eyes of My Heart” that has a mix of some Shoegaze and Electronica:

Odd day in Indy, today.

Indy Today

We have gone from 60 degrees at this time yesterday to 27 today. Light snow and heavy winds moved in last night.
This morning around 11 am, I was walking to meet a friend for lunch and it was flurrying while the sun was out. I could feel the warmth of the sun while flurries were falling.

Sometimes I think the weather reflects one

s mood, or maybe its just God saying, I feel your pain. Its been a sad day, but also a day were I feel God’s warmth and love. The weather is a perfect reflection of my relationship with God and my mood.

I have Sometimes by My Bloody Valentine on repeat. Fits perfect with today.

Very Odd day in Indy.

Thoughts after the Men’s Cursillo 107 closing – Indianapolis – DeColores

20120305-115134.jpg

I awake this morning from a restless sleep after being blessed to help with the music for the closing of the men Curisllo 107 in Indianapolis. I felt the fire of the Holy Spirit moving within me all night. Such amazing stories and outlooks was given by the men of Curisillo 107. But the most amazing part of the evening was the Grace that filled the room. You could feel it vibrate, as if all colors, light, atoms and molecules were rubbing together to build the fire of God’s love and peace within each of our hearts. Truly amazing and humbling.

I wish more men and women could feel the hope, love and Grace that the Cursillo movement helps to connect us to. I believe that is the greatest gift of this movement, Grace. In my heart I know how the apostles felt in the upper room on that blessed day in which the Tongues of Fire rained down on them by the out poring of God’s Grace through the Holy Spirit. My Cursillo filled my heart and mind and set them both on fire. I could actually see the Grace. There was one particular moment during my Cursillo (105) when Fr Phil was giving a talk in which he introduced Palanca, I saw vibrations of colors radiate from the walls through everyone in the room. It was so beautiful that I was moved to tears.

One of the men last night summed it up by one simple sentence, he looked over to his wife and said, “The man you are taking home tonight is not the same man you saw last Thursday.” Cursillo will change you. But like all change, one must stay connected. And we do that through grouping and the three legs of Study, Piety, and Action. It is our job to be like Christ to others in our environment and to do that, we must stay connected to the movement. Think of it as a recharging of your battery, cause once you start your fourth day, you may have changed, but the world has not. Through example, love and with Grace we must be the change we want to see in the world.

DeColores!

Let Us Pray:

Come Holy Spirit,
Fill the hearts of your faithful
And kindle in us the fire of your love.
Send forth your Spirit, and we shall be created.
And You shall renew the face of the earth.

O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit,
Did instruct the hearts of the faithful,
Grant that by the same Holy Spirit
We may be truly wise
And ever enjoy His consolations.
Through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

Humanae Vitae #17

Pope Paul VI – The Gift of Wisdom

“17. Responsible men can become more deeply convinced of the truth of the doctrine laid down by the Church on this issue if they reflect on the consequences of methods and plans for artificial birth control. Let them first consider how easily this course of action could open wide the way for marital infidelity and a general lowering of moral standards. Not much experience is needed to be fully aware of human weakness and to understand that human beings—and especially the young, who are so exposed to temptation—need incentives to keep the moral law, and it is an evil thing to make it easy for them to break that law. Another effect that gives cause for alarm is that a man who grows accustomed to the use of contraceptive methods may forget the reverence due to a woman, and, disregarding her physical and emotional equilibrium, reduce her to being a mere instrument for the satisfaction of his own desires, no longer considering her as his partner whom he should surround with care and affection.

Finally, careful consideration should be given to the danger of this power passing into the hands of those public authorities who care little for the precepts of the moral law. Who will blame a government which in its attempt to resolve the problems affecting an entire country resorts to the same measures as are regarded as lawful by married people in the solution of a particular family difficulty? Who will prevent public authorities from favoring those contraceptive methods which they consider more effective? Should they regard this as necessary, they may even impose their use on everyone. It could well happen, therefore, that when people, either individually or in family or social life, experience the inherent difficulties of the
divine law and are determined to avoid them, they may give into the hands of public authorities the power to intervene in the most personal and intimate responsibility of husband and wife.”
